The WORST Kate Spade Online Experience, EVER! Ft. No Free Shipping?! |Gimmemymascara

Hello, and welcome back!

If you’ve been following my blog, or YouTube channels for a while you’ll know how obsessed I am with Kate Spade! (Follow this link to see previous Kate Spade planner posts of mine.. planner review, and DIY Kate Spade planner stickers!) I’ve used their planners for years now and my room is decorated with their handbags. I love their accessories and their way of life; confident and colourful, fun, yet sophisticated- it’s everything I stand for. So- you can imagine my dismay when I tried to place an order for a new planner on their website and came across the WORST online customer service of my online shopping life.

I was heartbroken.

Here’s how it went down… Continue reading

My Favourite Dewy Skin Products, For Oily Skin! | GimmeMyMascara

For as long as I can remember, my skin has been oily. And, I mean, OILY, like fry some chicken nuggets on my nose in the summer kinda oily, gross, I know. (The skin, not the nuggets, those are always delish.)

Imagine my shock when I came to realized that I was actually interested in trying out some dewier skin care products this summer… I was in Pakistan a few months ago and the extreme heat was really HELPING my skin… it was the strangest thing but the hot, humid weather was pulling all the dirt and oil out of my skin , leaving my skin at it’s all time best! Woo Hoo! I got back to Canada a while ago and the cold air wasn’t helping to preserve my new supermodel skin, so I decided to try out some new products to help add that glowing goddess look back! unnamed

The first product that I’ve been using RELIGIOUSLY for the past few months, morning and night, is the Bobby Brown EXTRA Face Oil. I’ve always been terrified of face oils and my traumatic experience with the Tarte Maracuja Oil wasn’t helping… Continue reading

Organizing, For The Unorganized!

Organizing, for the unorganized.

You have as many hours in a day as Beyonce.

And, you CAN accomplish everything on your to do list for the day.

*Do not add winning a grammy to that list and you’ll be fine*

I’m not crazy, swear it.

If you’re thinking “like I could ever accomplish everything that Queen Bee does, even if I tried.” Well, I’m here to tell you, and teach you, that you can.

Time management is just one of those things that everyone, including myself, struggles with. And organizing your time, is organizing your LIFE. Dramatic, I know, but it’s true and you know it is.

PS- I’ve been thinking of writing this post for about a month, and just never found the “time” to do it. But here I am, taking my own advice, and getting to it! You’re welcome.

So, here’s the deal…. Continue reading

My First Week With A VERTICAL Planner! | GimmeMyMascara

Hello and welcome back to Gimmemymascara!

I know I’ve been absent for quite a while but I woke up this morning to a notification from WordPress letting me know how well my blog has been doing, even in my absence, and how my views were sky rocketing! WOAH! That’s definitely one way to help me out of bed on a #HumpDay! I went through my stats to notice planner related posts are what y’all are loving most right now, and today being the Erin Condren Life Planner release day, I thought a planner post was fitting!

I got word of the EC release last week, and while bloggers like Elle Fowler were raving about the new planners, I thought of how much I would really use a vertical planner and how it would fit into my day to day life. I also remembered I had bought the MAMBI 365 Happy Planner at Michaels a few months back while it was on sale and I thought I would use it this week as a test run for the EC. Here’s how the week’s going so far:

A) FULL BOX STICKERS!!! I recently got a few of the full box stickers from ItsJustPaperCo during one of her ToonieTuesday sales and i’ve been itching to use them! This week I used the Welcome to Paradise collection and having a full row of full box stickers in the center of my planner has been so fun and colourful! I’ve always thought full boxes took up too much room but it’s summer, and I really don’t have all that much going on this week, so it worked out perfectly! So far so good.

**I didn’t think I was doing a post on this spread so I didn’t bother taking any pictures of it before the pen! I’m sorry I can’t show you the whole thing, for privacy reasons, but here’s what I do have..**

..Maybe we’ll find clarity in those words | Gimmemymascara

Earlier today, I was re watching an old episode of One Tree Hill. This show has inspired me for years. I inspire to be a different part of each of the characters and to take what a simple TV show has shown me and live my life as that one group of friends has taught me how. This particular quote, by Haley James Scott stuck with me, and I thought I would share. As a profession writing student I too seek for answers and clarity in my writing to explain to myself the world I live in and that is why I love to write as much as I do….

What’s the point?

…I don’t know

When archaeologist uncover lost civilization and they enter these worlds that have long since been destroyed, you know what they find most often? They find stories, ancient languages, words and scriptures, from people who have been gone for thousands of years. Because chances are they, like you, wanted to know, what’s the point? And they wanted us to know they were here, they told their stories and they tried to make sense out of their lives and their worlds, and their tragedies.

..Maybe we’ll find clarity in those words, maybe we’ll find peace.

-One Tree Hill. Season 6, Episode 3.

What’s your story? xoxo Anisa

Bloguary Day 5, 6, 7- Best Beauty Products of 2014- Blushes and Bronzers | Gimmemymascara

Considering I’ve missed the past two days of Bloguary, I’d like to start this post off with an apology. You are all so supportive of what I do and I feel like I’ve let you down. Starting a new blog series, for a new blogger, the same time as a new semester starts, with a larger course load than I have ever done, is very difficult. I’ve decided to combine Bloguary Days 5, 6, and 7, and give you the total run down of the best cheek products of 2014, all in one. This post will cover my favourite blushes from my favourite blush kit, another one of the prettiest blushes in town, and my favourite bronzer(s).

This first product is one I purchased in early october, which was actually rather early for a holiday set, but it was the Benefit Cosmetics Cheeky Sweet Spot blush kit. This kit came with 5 powder blushes, a powder bronzer, and a cream highlighter. The shades included; Dandelion, Sugarbomb, Coralista, Bella Bamba, and Rockateur as the blushes, (in order of how they’re pictured here,) Hoola as the bronzer, and Watt’s up as the highlight.IMG_1392 2

Bloguary Day 1- Best Beauty Products of 2014- The Beauty Blender | GimmeMyMascara

Happy New Year, everyone and welcome to Bloguary. This month, there will be a new post up every other day featuring one of my beauty favourites from 2014. The posts will go in order of how I would apply my makeup, face makeup first, then cheeks, then eyes and so forth.

To kick off this series, I present to you a makeup tool. This product is one I purchased back in May from the Sephora in Times Square, which if you haven’t ever been to, add that to your bucket list-immediately. It’s the Beauty Blender. If you’re unfamiliar with a Beauty Blender, it’s a teardrop shaped sponge which you’re meant to run under water and ring out a few times before using. The sponge then doubles in size to apply, and blend out any cream product, flawlessly. Traditional face brushes can leaves streaky lines or marks where as the Beauty Blender is round, it has no edges so you can never see where the sponge stopped blending. Continue reading

10 quotes to live by…

* 10 quotes that can change your life, if you give them the power to. Remember, you have to be the change you want to see in the world.

Kindness is free

It’s not what you say, but how you say it

You have to be calm and collective around liquid liner, it senses fear

“I’m bored” is such a useless thing to say. I mean, you live in a great, big, vast world that you’ve seen none percent of. Even the inside of your own mind is endless; it goes on forever, inwardly, do you understand? The fact that you’re alive is amazing, so don’t you say “I’m bored”

Pick your thoughts every morning like you’d pick an outfit, wisely

It’s crazy to think how deep our minds are when being alive, looking around, touching things, talking to people, it all seems so simple.

Work like a Humphrey. Think like a Bass. Act like a Waldorf. Love like an Archibald and Dress like a Van der Woodsen.

If you have the energy to wish for it, have the energy to do it.

A man once told Buddha, “I want happiness.”  Buddha replied, “First, remove I; that’s ego. Then remove want; that’s desire. And now all you’re left with is Happiness.”

And when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair, remember it’s only in the black of night you see the stars.
